9 lemlist alternatives for cold email and outreach

9 lemlist alternatives for cold email and outreach — GTM Street

Instantly leads our lemlist alternatives for experienced teams focused on cold email. If you also use LinkedIn and calling in your sequences, Reply.io is the stronger starting point. The choice comes down to which channels you need to keep and how many colleagues need access.

Which alternative fits your reason to switch?

  • Choose Instantly when managing email campaigns across several mailboxes is your priority.
  • Choose Smartlead when clients need access to their own campaigns and your team needs to assign replies.
  • Compare QuickMail when two or more people share a small prospect list.
  • Compare Reply.io when keeping email and LinkedIn in the same sequence matters more than the lowest entry price.

What would you keep or replace?

Native sending means the product sends the sequence itself. An integration connects another service, while an add-on requires an additional purchase. Warm-up generates mailbox activity before outreach.

1. Instantly

Best for: Experienced cold email teams that want several sending mailboxes and one place to answer replies.

Instantly brand artwork

Instantly is our first choice for experienced teams moving from lemlist to a dedicated cold email tool. You can connect unlimited sending accounts and distribute campaigns across them. A team answering replies together needs Hypergrowth’s Unibox and team access at US$97 a month with monthly billing.

Instantly Growth costs US$47 a month on the same terms and includes warm-up. Its Unibox is preview-only, though, and you can’t invite a teammate. Growth also caps uploaded contacts at 1,000; pausing a campaign leaves its contacts in that allowance. For shared reply handling, the extra US$50 a month buys features you’ll need immediately.

You can keep LinkedIn outreach by connecting Instantly with Aimfox. The integration transfers leads between the products and requires a valid LinkedIn URL for LinkedIn outreach. Aimfox has its own paid subscription, so this route suits a team happy to manage email and LinkedIn in separate tools.

2. Smartlead

Best for: Agencies giving clients access to campaigns while assigning prospect replies to their own team.

Smartlead brand artwork

A client checking campaign progress needs different access from the salesperson answering messages. Smartlead’s agency controls restrict a client’s view to the relevant accounts and campaigns. Your team can then use lead assignment to put one person in charge of each conversation. That division of responsibility is a good reason for an agency to move from lemlist.

Smartlead Pro costs US$94 a month with monthly billing and includes 30,000 stored contacts with 90,000 monthly emails. A branded client workspace adds US$29 per client per month, bringing the total for three to US$181 a month. Email verification is a paid add-on on Pro, so budget for checking your lists as well as giving clients access.

3. Saleshandy

Best for: Sellers who want contact finding included with their outreach subscription.

Saleshandy brand artwork

Saleshandy is most appealing when finding contacts is a recurring expense. Its Starter plan includes 1,500 finder credits each month for US$41 a month with monthly billing. A verified work email uses one Lead Finder credit, while a phone number uses six. An unsuccessful search uses none.

The same Starter subscription gives one seller a unified inbox and room for 2,000 active prospects. You can find a modest list and handle its replies without buying a separate data subscription.

For a team, Saleshandy Pro costs US$99 a month on monthly billing and includes ten users with 4,000 monthly finder credits. That’s US$30 more than lemlist Email, which already includes unlimited users at US$69 a month. Saleshandy’s case rests on the contact data your team will use, rather than cheaper access for a second colleague.

4. QuickMail

Best for: Small teams sharing one workspace and a relatively short prospect list.

QuickMail brand artwork

QuickMail’s Starter subscription lets several colleagues share a small campaign for US$49 a month with monthly billing. It includes unlimited users and sending accounts in one workspace. With 1,000 uploaded contacts and 5,000 monthly emails, it covers the two-person example below: four email steps to 1,000 prospects.

That’s a US$20 monthly saving over lemlist Email if the smaller allowance is enough. QuickMail also keeps follow-ups with the original sending address through inbox rotation. Rotation doesn’t let you allocate particular prospects to chosen mailboxes, so Starter is a better fit for a shared list than for assigning each salesperson a named set of accounts through that feature.

5. Snov.io

Best for: A small sales team that needs prospecting and a simple customer relationship management system together.

Snov.io brand artwork

Leaving lemlist may also mean finding somewhere to track prospects after they reply. Snov.io puts a built-in customer relationship management system alongside its email finder and campaign builder. For a small team without a CRM, having the sales record beside the outreach campaign is a useful reason to choose it.

Snov.io Starter costs US$39 a month with monthly billing and includes unlimited team seats. Its 1,000 data credits pay for finding or verifying contacts. The separate 5,000-recipient allowance counts a prospect once during the billing period, even if you send that person several follow-ups.

Snov.io Starter allows unlimited mailbox connections but only three warm-up slots. LinkedIn automation adds US$69 per account per month. The US$39 subscription works as an email starting point; replacing both lemlist channels means paying for each LinkedIn account too.

6. Reply.io

Best for: Salespeople who want email and LinkedIn outreach in one multichannel subscription.

Reply.io brand artwork

Reply.io is a strong alternative for keeping email and LinkedIn in one sequence builder. Its Multichannel plan also includes calling and SMS capabilities. A salesperson following up across those channels can coordinate the steps without buying a separate LinkedIn sender.

Reply.io Multichannel costs US$99 per user per month with monthly billing and includes five mailboxes per user. That’s US$10 less per user than lemlist Multichannel on the same terms. The saving alone is modest, so this is a move for a sequence builder you prefer rather than a large cut in spending.

Reply.io’s cheaper Email Volume plan starts at US$59 per user per month for 1,000 active contacts, with LinkedIn sold separately. Multichannel is the plan to compare for both channels. Jason AI is also a separate purchase from the ordinary outreach subscription.

7. Salesforge

Best for: Teams combining AI-personalized email with LinkedIn steps.

Salesforge brand artwork

Salesforge brings prospect-specific writing into the campaign tool through personalization credits. Its Pro plan costs US$48 a month with monthly billing and includes one user with one LinkedIn sender. You get 1,000 active contacts and 5,000 monthly emails, with Primebox for replies and Warmforge for mailbox warm-up.

For a solo seller who wants to generate messages and send them from one product, Pro is the plan to start with. A second login requires Salesforge Growth at US$96 a month on monthly billing, an extra US$48. Growth allows unlimited users and LinkedIn senders, but social actions still draw from a credit allowance. More connected profiles don’t increase that allowance. Leadsforge contact data and mailbox hosting are separate purchases, so keep those costs alongside the sending subscription.

8. Woodpecker

Best for: Sellers who need follow-ups to change according to information about the prospect.

Woodpecker brand artwork

Woodpecker lets you change a follow-up according to information already stored about the prospect. Its sequence conditions can check a custom field and choose a path based on its value. That suits a seller who wants different messages for different segments without building a separate campaign for each one.

Woodpecker’s 500-contacted-prospect configuration costs US$35 a month with monthly billing in USD. It includes 8,000 emails and two warm-up accounts, with unlimited mailbox connections. This is a low-cost option for a focused audience, but contacting the same prospect in another campaign counts them again. Frequent reuse of a list can therefore use up the prospect allowance faster than its size suggests. Integrations carry an additional charge too.

9. Hunter

Best for: Sellers who mainly need business email addresses and a straightforward follow-up sequence.

Hunter brand artwork

Hunter is a good fit when your outreach usually begins with finding an address at a particular company. You can find and verify the contact details, then send through Hunter Sequences with up to five follow-ups. For sellers leaving much of lemlist unused, that covers the core email tasks in a smaller product.

Hunter’s free plan allows one connected account and up to 500 recipients per sequence. Its data allowance is smaller than its recipient allowance, so finding 500 new addresses isn’t included just because you can email that many people.

Hunter Starter costs US$34 a month equivalent with US$408 billed annually. It raises the limit to 2,500 recipients per sequence and three connected sending accounts. Mailbox rotation needs at least two of those accounts. Hunter is for a small email setup; it won’t carry over lemlist’s native LinkedIn steps.

A cheaper subscription or a different lemlist plan?

Suppose two colleagues share six existing mailboxes. They have 1,000 verified prospects and plan an initial email plus three follow-ups, for at most 4,000 sequence emails. Both people need their own login and want to answer replies inside the outreach software.

QuickMail’s US$49 Starter plan fits that email workload. lemlist’s US$69 Email plan also fits, with a substantially larger shared allowance of 50,000 monthly emails. Instantly needs its US$97 Hypergrowth plan for team access and Unibox replies. Those are software subscription comparisons; the scenario assumes you already pay for the mailboxes and have the contact data.

For a team paying for lemlist Multichannel but using only email, switching to lemlist Email can reduce the bill. However, switching between lemlist plan families isn’t a simple self-service upgrade or downgrade. The options are a new team with manual migration or assistance from support. A new billing period begins when the change takes effect.

For these two colleagues, QuickMail saves US$20 a month over lemlist Email and covers the planned campaign. Staying with lemlist buys more room for sending at US$69 a month. Instantly remains our preference for experienced cold email teams, but it costs US$48 more than QuickMail for this small shared campaign.

What to carry over before moving

Start with the people who should never receive a restarted sequence. Preserve your unsubscribe records and other suppression lists, then separate prospects who already replied from those who haven’t started. Re-importing a contact list without its campaign status can make an old prospect look new.

Next, map the steps you actually use. An email-only replacement can preserve email follow-ups, but a LinkedIn step needs a native channel or a separate connected tool. Keep a record of which mailbox owns each existing conversation so replies don’t lose their context during the move.

For a wider comparison of sending platforms, our cold email software guide includes additional options. If you plan to split email and LinkedIn between products, use the LinkedIn automation tools ranking to choose the second subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Are there free lemlist alternatives?

Hunter has a free plan with one connected email account and up to 500 recipients in a sequence. Its limited data credits still affect how many new addresses you can find. It suits a small email campaign, rather than replacing a paid multichannel workflow.

Which lemlist alternative is cheaper for a team?

QuickMail Starter is US$49 a month with monthly billing and includes unlimited users in one workspace. Snov.io Starter is US$39 a month with unlimited team seats, but its data and warm-up allowances differ. lemlist Email costs US$69 a month, with more shared sending capacity than QuickMail Starter.

Does switching to Instantly preserve LinkedIn outreach?

Instantly can connect to Aimfox for lead transfers and LinkedIn campaigns. Aimfox requires a separate paid subscription, and leads need a valid LinkedIn URL. You'll run the LinkedIn campaign in Aimfox and need to rebuild any conditions the transfer doesn't preserve.

Is leaving lemlist necessary to stop paying per user?

Not necessarily. lemlist's current Email plan includes unlimited users, while its Multichannel plan charges per user. Existing accounts can have legacy terms, so compare your actual subscription with the current plan that supports your channels.

Honorable mentions

Mailshake

Mailshake brand artwork

Mailshake’s Lead Catcher suits salespeople who want to work through a queue of replies with clear ownership. Email Outreach costs US$49 per user per month with monthly billing. It sits outside our main nine because its per-user structure is less compelling for the small shared-workspace scenario above.

GMass

GMass brand artwork

GMass keeps outreach inside Gmail. Its Premium plan costs US$39.95 a month for an individual subscription and includes automated follow-ups. It is a useful narrower choice if Gmail is where you want to work; it doesn’t replace lemlist’s broader multichannel workflow.
